Setup
Guitar
set up can often be ignored by some guitarists - beginners and giggers
alike. Why is it important? For beginners, we are concerned that
your playing does not suffer initially from a poor set up. This
can lead to frustrating tuning issues. For giggers, if you find
your action changing over time and tuning up becoming more difficult
mid-gig or strings breaking frequently, we can check out your guitar
and offer on-the-spot advice as to whether it really needs a professional
set up. Before we even stock our shelves we check each guitar that
we sell according to the minimum criteria set out below. We provide
both basic set up and guitar maintenance services and advanced bespoke
services such as re-wiring, pick up fitting, neck renewal, refrets

Restringing
starts from £12.00. Basic electric and acoustic guitar set ups start
from £27.50.
We
sell excellent technical references
on set up and other guitar repairs which form the foundation for
our maintenance and repair strategy and many sources can also can
be found on the web.

We
conduct the following checks (and make adjustments where necessary*)
in the following order on all guitars we sell and service. These
checks are the ones we perform as part of our set up service. Every
service is accompanied by a Quality Assurance document that details
the steps and any adjustments made, together with general comments
on likely future issues.
